Outdoor Pre-K/Kindergarten – 4’s and 5’s

Monday–Thursday 8:45am–3:15pm, Friday 8:45am–11:50am

Our Outdoor Pre-K/Kindergarten is a mixed-age, mostly outdoor program for 4 and 5-year-olds. We embrace each child’s natural curiosity and offer meaningful child-based learning experiences that strengthen their skill development and help nurture a lasting connection with the natural world. The time spent outdoors offers all children opportunities to achieve and develop confidence and self-esteem through hands-on learning experiences in a natural environment. Nature-based educational activities include teacher- and child-led experiences integrating math, literacy/language, science/nature, art, music, and social studies. Child learning and understanding occur in different ways and at different rates for each child, and these differences add to the value of the learning environment. A priority is placed on establishing and maintaining close partnerships with families and the community to holistically support the children.
